Swing 4 life

I don't usually like to put pictures on this blog, but I felt like today was a special day. I that the swing 4 life is probably one of my favorite things. After a no show on the bus today, and a late start to miss our hitting time. I will admit I was a little frustrated. I called Kathy the lady in charge to tell her our situation. She started this and now it is done all over the country.. She said Jodi I understand, but please come... I know how important it is and so we loaded up in suburbans and headed out. We didn't take the pitching machine due to lack of room, and missing our time. When we arrived Kathy and the others rolled out the red carpet. They were so excited to see us. Giving us all a t-shirt and wanting us to hit, and write our names for the drawing. It was great. Alta high school stepped up and said Use our machine and bats, and take your turn please hit. These girls were letting us use their $300 bats. Not even a worry. SO the girls stepped in with borrowed equipment and took a few swings each. I was proud of how our girls behaved, and acted. Our senior were on the radio. They were interviewed by Amy Donaldson who is the main writer of girls prep sports in the state of Utah. She was so glad when we came and said she was waiting for us. The senior did a great job, telling about the pink game, auction, and fundraiser we did and what we did with the money. Then of course talk about the team and region did come up and they were so cute.. I was proud and you should be too. They then lined us up for a parade of teams. I will admit it isn't as fun in the gym as it is outside on the ball field. But it worked for the weather. The girls came through the curtain and they announced Payson High School, and the girls cheered. I will admit I got the cold chills and teared up a bit. I was proud. I don't think that the girls realize the impact and importance of this cause. But as Brent, Fox and I were sitting there. I told them with how many girls we have and coach. Some of them will have breast cancer. I hope they don't but odds are one or more of them will, and maybe with what we are doing we may be able to help save one of them. So thank you for your support with the pink game, and this weekend your daughters were great, and I am a proud coach...
